I'm back! First post of 2010, indeed, of the decade! That makes it a bit 'effect, but in reality I do not seem to have changed much ... :-)
I did not want to celebrate too much this step, 2009 - 2010, but I do not know exactly why ... sincerely I was not waiting for the new year with some kind of hope for change, change, fortune or else ... let's say I feel a bit '"catapulted" into this new decade and I look around suspiciously!
I could publish a useless "Happy 2010 to all", instead I wanted to wait until today to write something on my blog, because I knew that January 12 would be the disclosure of the names selected for New Generation Sanremo! As I foresaw this event has given me some questions and concerns ....
This year with the emerging Festival, RAI wanted to modernize: decided to create yet another website where anyone can listen to a song and rate it! Like ... talent1, more or less ... Basically for a month, on the site http://www.sanremo.rai.it/ , we were able to hear and vote on proposals to publish more than 900 songs for "Sanremo new generation" and by artists with no label. ... And here comes my first question ... NO LABEL DISCOGRAFCA ???!!! But ... then ... what is it ???!! Sanremo LAB In theory, what was once called the Accademia di Sanremo (Sanremo LAB today, in fact) is an institution created to send the Ariston stage 2 or 3 new artists who are not offered directly from record companies, unlike the now exceeded "Sanremo Giovani" which was managed exclusively by the discography. All this at least made sense: who could do such a thing could not do the other, and vice versa! But this year I've seen people rejected in November by Sanremo LAB, which is registered in Sanremo New Generation in December! But what is the point then spend money to participate in San Remo LAB, and between enrollment and Accommodation / food costs as a holiday? He he ... of course when it started was not yet published the rules of Sanremo New Generation, which instead provides a totaly free! There is however, important to make a clarification: you can participate in Sanremo LAB even with the covers or songs published, and only at the end you will be obliged to submit a song called "new", while in San Remo New Generation had to offer only new songs! And other concerns here ... what does that mean new song?! A Sanremo means "never hear made in public," but you can bet that among the 900 tracks uploaded to the site of the festival, at least a good 15% would have found the first few months on MySpace! In this world of instant sharing of files is hard to find anything ever heard ... Anyway it is not a problem, so I do not think a normal person go on the site of Sanremo 900 songs to feel that to vote for eight like best !!!!!! What then ... vote ... here's another interesting point:
the pieces chosen for the festival were selected by the Board of Sanremo!
Yes, people could vote for the songs on the site, but ... well ... for fun! Actually vote is never served at a club !!!!!!
So, I say ... I have shredded the Maronites with all that spam on the Internet to vote this or that song in Sanremo, not to mention the e-mail "request to vote" to realize the dream of a songwriter who abominable proposed an unlistenable song titled "Magnet"! All this for nothing!! Because in the end, the committee has selected and sent only to people with major Sanremo behind! Eh, you know what's new ...
Boh ... I think that instead of going forward we're going back ... that is, they take us for fools and we will also give reason?! SVEGLIAAAA !!!!!!
We come now to the last of my concerns, that is: what happens to the discarded songs from Sanremo New Generation? Let's take an example: Luca Napolitano was in good competition with a beautiful song called "Elsewhere", written by my friend Andrea Amati. Luke looks back on a major project with Warner Music, there were investments on him and on this song, ok? Well, Luke, unfortunately, was unable to enter the eight who will go on the stage of the Ariston in February, but now his piece was published for one month on the site of San Remo (with no recognition SIAE), and all the fans' have heard and strategic heard! At this point it makes sense to insert "Elsewhere" in the near disk Luke?! Not really for me ... so what! Thanks to the wonderful idea of \u200b\u200bco & Clerici, Luca Napolitano and many other artists like him, literally "burned out" of potential singles! virtually empty for a bell'investimento record companies! And the idea was to improve the world of Italian music?! CONGRATULATIONS! Azz ...
deliberately did not enter in the topic of the choice of finalists, so I assume that if you get 900 songs and you select 8 you will never make the right choice ... perhaps because there is no right choice! We know that the Festival evaluate everything based on the plays, the age and interests of record companies, then it makes no sense ... going into the question. So ... when the 8 singers were chosen, the other 882 were angry a priori ! Even and especially those who deserved less, because now we are all talents in Italy, no?!
Ignorance is inversely proportional to the capacity of self-criticism, so ... pissed off more or less mad, for the Festival Committee makes no difference! The games are made now, now it again on the agenda in February.
